After majoring in architecture at university, I've been involved in building work for more than twenty years now. These days I've decided to narrow my focus to wooden housing.

The director of an office I once worked at used to say, "Someone who can do first-rate work can also do third-rate work. But someone who only does third-rate work cannot do first-rate work." Those words have stayed with me.

I want to be the kind of person who can do first-rate work. But I don't think you can become first-rate by doing everything indiscriminately. By narrowing the scope, you might get closer to first-rate — so I focus on wooden housing every day.
